The Music Ministry

 provides spiritually uplifting & liturgically

supportive music for worship services

We are also called to share our musical gifts in support of special events of the church, or outside the church altogether. Our Chancel and Bell Choirs work to provide a festive Christmas and Easter that includes multiple services enhanced with choral literature, bell literature, and the solo talents of some of our members. Our collaboration with the St. Andrew’s AME choir in the Martin Luther King, Jr. worship celebration is a joyful blessing that we look forward to each year. The mission of the music ministry is to provide spiritually uplifting and liturgically supportive music for worship services of the church. You can find information about all of our Music programs below:

SPBTS Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir is a joyful and committed group comprised of choristers of varying ages and choral backgrounds. Music reading ability is helpful but not necessary. The Choir enjoys weekly fellowship and a rich musical experience. The Chancel Choir leads the parish in music and worship every Sunday, providing appropriate choral literature offerings, supported by congregational singing. They learn an eclectic array of reputable choral music, which is presented not only at Sunday services, but at concerts and special services. Anyone high school age and older is welcome to join the choir. They rehearse with Lynne on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:30 p.m. and on Sunday mornings from 9:00-9:45am in preparation for worship. We’d love to have you! Please contact Lynne Radcliffe.

SPBTS Children’s Choir

Our Children’s Choir is organized under the principles and structure of the Royal School of Church Choir in America. We follow the RSCM sequenced curriculum.  Children’s Choir is open to children in grades 2-6. We rehearse on Wednesdays with social/snack time in Christopher Lobby beginning at 3:30pm and rehearse from 3:45-4:15pm. The Children participate regularly in Sunday services, as well as some special services. There are at least two bonding events during the year, as well as an evening production before summer break.

The Bell Choir

The Bell Choir is an intermediate level adult group comprised of 10-12 ringers. Some music reading ability is necessary. They rehearse in the sanctuary every Wednesday from 5:30-5:45pm and play monthly for worship services as well as for all special services and concerts. For information about joining or subbing for the bell choir, please contact Lynne Radcliffe.

Sandals, Shorts and Steel Drum Service

This 11:30am-12pm Sunday Eucharistic service was created for busy beaches (or beach-minded) families to "come as you are" - in other words, dress informally. Congregants are invited to participate in the service which features tropical steel drum worship music.
