Christian formation is a lifelong process of growing in our relationship with God, self, others, and all creation. It is the work of God’s Holy Spirit in the lives of his people, slowly growing them into the image and character of Jesus. The process is inspired by the Holy Spirit and grounded in Scripture and a faith community.
From the Greek euangelion, "good news." An evangelist is one who tells the story of Jesus. The epistle to the Ephesians (4:11) names evangelists after apostles and prophets in the list of ministers in the NT church. Little else is said about evangelists or evangelism except that Philip was an evangelist (Acts 21:8), & Paul urged Timothy to "do the work of an evangelist" (2 Tm 4:5).
The Brotherhood of St. Andrew provides male camaraderie in a spiritual environment. It is a missionary and evangelism ministry of the Episcopal Church and Anglican Communion. Our chapter is made up of six separate denominations. In fact, it is the oldest evangelistic ministry of the Episcopal Church. Brotherhood members are active in every ministry of our church and sponsor monthly breakfasts, annual specialty dinners, workdays at SPBTS and at Camp Weed as well as other activities for the entire parish.
The Order of the Daughters of the King® (DOK) is a spiritual sisterhood of women dedicated to a life of Prayer, Service and Evangelism. We have made a commitment to Jesus as our Savior, and we follow Him as Lord of our lives. We are an Order for women who are communicants of the Episcopal Church, churches in communion with it, or churches in the Historic Episcopate. Today our membership includes women in the Anglican, Episcopal, Lutheran (ELCA) and Roman Catholic churches.
